LAS VEGAS SPHERE : A TECHNOLOGICAL WORK OF ART WITH NVIDIA RTX GPU

LAS VEGAS - Las Vegas’ iconic new attraction, the giant glowing sphere, has captured the public’s attention thanks to the power of NVIDIA RTX GPUs. With 150 RTX A6000 GPUs in action, this monumental structure covers nearly 70,000 square feet and boasts 1.2 million programmable LEDs that bring to life breathtaking visual effects and even a huge smiley observing traffic and planes in flight.

A Masterpiece of Engineering and Technology

According to NVIDIA, the 150 RTX A6000 GPUs used to power the Sphere each have more than 10,000 cores, 48 GB of memory and a TDP of 300W. In total, the build makes use of 1,612,800 cores, 7200 GB of GDDR6 memory and a maximum power consumption of 45,000W.

This impressive technological configuration enables the Sphere to offer unprecedented visual experiences, both inside and outside its exhibition space.

Alex Luthwaite, senior vice president of entertainment systems technology at Sphere Entertainment, emphasized the importance of the collaboration with NVIDIA : " The Sphere is captivating audiences not only in Las Vegas, but around the world with immersive LED content presented with unprecedented clarity and scale.

This is possible thanks to the innovation and expertise of companies like NVIDIA, who are working closely with our team to redefine what is possible with cutting-edge display technology."

A Revolution in Entertainment

Listed by TIME as one of the best inventions of 2023, the Sphere hosts original experiences, concerts, residencies by the world’s biggest artists, and high-profile corporate events. With advanced connectivity technology, including BlueField DPU and ConnectX-6 Dx NIC, and innovative software such as DOCA Firefly Service and NVIDIA Rivermax, the Sphere manages 16 internal 16K displays and more than one million programmable external LEDs.

The Las Vegas Sphere is not only an architectural work of art, but a preview of how GPUs can transform visual experiences on a large scale. The global community is eagerly waiting to see what will be the next project to use the power of NVIDIA’s RTX GPUs to amaze the world.

In conclusion, the Las Vegas Sphere is a testament to the incredible potential of modern technology applied to entertainment and architecture, thanks to the continuous innovation of companies like NVIDIA.
