Adobe unveiled new AI models Firefly Image 2, Firefly Vector and Firefly Design at MAX 2023. The upgrades create more realistic images, vector graphics and templates through natural language prompts. Adobe has announced significant upgrades to its Firefly generative AI image generation tool at its annual MAX conference. The new Firefly Image 2 model can create more photorealistic images with finer details. Adobe also introduced Firefly Vector for generating editable vector graphics and Firefly Design for making customizable templates in Illustrator and Adobe Express. Firefly has been incorporated into Photoshop, Premiere Pro and other Creative Cloud apps. The Firefly Vector tool allows designers to create vector images using natural language prompts. The images are automatically organized into logical groups and layers. The new Firefly Design feature enables users to generate templates by describing them in text. Adobe says over 3 billion images have been created with Firefly since its launch. The company aims to integrate AI capabilities across its products while engaging with users to refine the models. Highlights:
  • New Firefly Image 2 model creates more photorealistic images with finer details
  • Firefly Vector generates editable vector graphics from text prompts
  • Firefly Design enables text-to-template generation in Illustrator and Adobe Express
  • Over 3 billion images have been created with Firefly since its launch
  • Adobe integrating AI capabilities across products while refining models
Adobe's emphasis on integrating generative AI across its creative products shows they are fully embracing this technology. However, generative AI has faced criticism over the potential misuse of content and style replication. Adobe says it is taking measured steps to implement AI responsibly, but challenges remain.
