  #HP Inc #CEO Enrique Lores told #CNBC that #AI would significantly alter the personal computer (#PC) industry, including his own company. Lores said AI will "help us reimagine what a PC is" by enabling experiences that go beyond today's conventional #computing. He detailed how AI-powered PCs being developed by HP could produce #spreadsheets and dissect data in seconds rather than the hours analysts spend now. These AI-enabled devices may hit the market as early as 2024. In the interview, Lores added: “I have never seen an opportunity like this, to really drive innovation and drive a new type of customer needs that we really think are going to be fundamental.” Though HP posted a second-quarter revenue figure of $12.91 billion, below estimates, the CEO remains optimistic about the future. He stated channel inventory reduction impacted first-half results, but consumer demand should strengthen during back-to-school and holiday shopping seasons in the second half.
