Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced a strategic partnership with Humain, a new AI company backed by the Saudi Public Investment Fund. The goal is to create an “AI Zone” in Saudi Arabia, with a total investment of more than $5 billion, which will include cloud infrastructure, data centers, and advanced training programs.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has entered into a strategic partnership with Humain, the new artificial intelligence (AI) venture launched by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and backed by the Public Investment Fund (PIF). The agreement includes a joint investment of more than $5 billion to build an “AI Zone” in Saudi Arabia, an initiative that includes the development of advanced cloud infrastructure, data centers, networks, and training and certification programs focused on AWS technologies. Humain is committed to using AWS solutions to develop AI applications and to working with AWS to provide tools and support programs for local AI startups. In parallel, AWS announced a separate investment of $5.3 billion to open a new AWS Region in the kingdom by 2026, which will include three Availability Zones and be supported by two innovation centers and training programs for Saudi developers and IT professionals.

The initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 plan, aimed at diversifying the economy and promoting the country’s digital transformation.
