Elon Musk’s AI company xAI is accelerating innovation by launching the advanced Grok 2 model and new features on X. The system promises improvements in speed, accuracy and multilingualism, with reduced API fees and more developments to come.

Key points:

  • Grok 2 is now three times faster, with improvements in accuracy and multilingual support.
  • X users get access to a free limit of 10 questions every two hours, expanded for Premium plans.
  • Introduced the "Grok Button" to add context to events and dive deeper into trending discussions.
  • Reduced API prices and announced the Aurora image generator is coming to the API.

xAI has announced the release of Grok 2, the updated version of its flagship chatbot, available to all users of the social network X, formerly known as Twitter. The new model, according to the company, guarantees superior performance, tripling the speed and improving the accuracy in understanding instructions and multilingual responses. For free users, access is limited to 10 questions every two hours, while the Premium and Premium+ plans offer greater freedom of use, integrating Grok into daily activities on X.

One of the main new features is the introduction of the "Grok button", an innovation designed to improve the user experience in understanding real-time events, exploring trends and obtaining relevant context. This feature, integrated directly into X, aims to transform the social network into a more dynamic and informed interaction space.

In parallel, xAI has renewed its corporate API, with new Grok models that optimize efficiency and multilingual capabilities. As a result of these improvements, prices have been significantly reduced: input token processing goes from $5 to $2 per million, while output tokens go from $15 to $10 per million. This is a significant step forward that aims to make the API more accessible to interested companies.

There are plans for the future: the Aurora image generation model, known for its unfiltered nature and already introduced in the Grok chatbot experience on X, will soon be integrated into the xAI API. This enrichment underscores the company’s goal of expanding the scope of its AI technologies, strengthening its competitiveness in an increasingly contested sector.

With these updates, xAI demonstrates a constant commitment to the evolution of its products, aiming to offer increasingly high-performance and accessible tools.
