Microsoft has signed a strategic partnership with Officine Grandi Riparazioni (OGR) of Turin, designating them as acceleration partners in the AI L.A.B – Learn Adopt Benefit program. This project, aimed at businesses, public administrations, professionals and students in Piedmont and the North-West, aims to spread generative AI through digital innovation and training courses. OGR Turin, already home to the Italian center for AI, thus strengthens its role as a technological hub of excellence. The AI L.A.B program, developed by Microsoft, offers tailor-made tools to maximize the impact of emerging technologies and support competitiveness on the market.
The collaboration is based on shared values such as “data altruism”, or the ethical and shared use of data for social and environmental purposes. An emblematic example is Impact Deal, a European program for the acceleration of companies oriented towards social impact, created by Fondazione CRT with the support of Microsoft and OGR Turin. Thanks to exclusive datasets, a Data Club composed of public and private companies and organizations, and a network of experts, Impact Deal represents a unique crossroads between AI, entrepreneurship and sustainable impact. At the heart of the initiative, mentoring, networking with investors and concrete opportunities for high-potential companies.
Microsoft strengthens its commitment to Italy with an unprecedented investment of 4.3 billion euros, destined to expand the cloud infrastructure and AI, as well as a plan to train over one million Italians by 2025. Among the key projects, the Cloud Region “ItalyNorth” will become one of the largest data center hubs in Europe, playing a strategic role for the Mediterranean and North Africa. This operation confirms Italy’s role as a European technology hub, also thanks to partnerships such as the one with OGR.
The collaboration between Microsoft and OGR Torino marks a decisive step towards a future in which AI, innovation and social impact converge to create new opportunities for sustainable growth.
